Currently a systems analyst for a large telecom, previously a business analyst for a Big 4 accounting firm. Main areas of focus are writing functional specifications, authoring design documents, SQL database queries, VBA macros and creating small in house applications to handle routine tasks using C#. Working on developing developing my programming skills, using C# as my primary language.

Representing a parent/child hierarchy in a Relational Database Thanks. I am familiar with foreign keys as they relate to records in other tables, but I have never seen a situation where you have a primary key in a table also being a foreign key for another record in the same table. Is this an unusual situation, or is it usually accepted in database design? |

Difference between Windows and Linux development environments? Yeah sorry my question is vague because the interview tip I got was vague. Not exactly sure what they're after or why a BA should need to know the difference. I suppose I'll find out more at the interview, although I hope this isn't a critical component. |
