Re-gaining confidence of senior programmer
If you actually produced something that worked , he was happy how it worked and you produced it in a legal manner in allotted time, he should be happy as a clam. Especially if the actual produced code is not total crap. Usually "junior programmers" produce shit and you expect them to produce shit and learn from it. Ofcourse it would be nice to ask your supervisor if it is ok to use a certain library , but if you were given liberty to do as you pleased .. well, he can only blame himself.
