comment Why is Javascript used in MongoDB and CouchDB instead of other languages such as Java, C++?
Sorry, I hardly ever downvote, but this should not be the accepted answer.

+1 I also experience the same reaction. It is a good question, in that, this intangible but otherwise common curious reaction is worth review, for reasonng - and perhaps improvement in years to come. I will consider and answer shortly.

comment JavaFX - the right way to use Properties with domain objects
Please correct me if I am wrong, but my understanding of JavaFX was that it was shelved by Sun in 2008 prior to Oracle purchase, and has only been refurbished to the market with the deprecation of Silverlight and Decline of Flash on apple devices. Maybe you are correct that it is tightly coupled to the view, and an original reason it was put on hold at sun. Just a thought.

comment Mobile cross-platform SDK for computationally intensive apps
Maybe callbacks could solve JS computation problem, at least that is what Node.js does. Also, there is RiverTrail, IBM JS multithreading, and Firefox OS is new from B2G. WebGL uses graphics memory to calculate 75 thousand triangles a second. Not sure if they help but maybe worth looking at. All advanced JS though.
