comment Gitlab workflow, forcing code review or merge request on branch
"The idea that we rely on people to create a branch and then a merge request seems faulty" It seems to me that you have a bigger problem than a lack of features in a version control system. If it's only a matter of spending the extra time creating a branch, take a look at Atlassian Stash and its integration with Jira.

comment Why is Mercurial considered to be easier than Git?
As GUIs go, SourceTree is pretty likeable for both Git and Mercurial IMO.

comment Why isn't there an html tag “field”?
@iambriansreed what I meant was visual design. I just don't see how what you're suggesting would improve the situation. Is there anything you could potentially do with a new field tag that you can't do with input, label and fieldset in terms of semantics?

"but I was looking for support... not voice of reason" This sounds like something you could read in a Dilbert strip... "Stop making sense!" :)

comment Objective-C As A First OOP Language?
+1 for "working in more than one language makes you a better developer". Sometimes it really makes you stop and think about how a language is designed. OOP comes in many flavors. A good example is how Java/C# or Ruby tackle the problems that can be solved by multiple inheritance in C++, using interfaces and modules respectively.
