comment Is this database design sound and fully normalised?
@LeoKing - Wasn't meant to be negative, was just a statement. Sorry if it came across that way :)

comment Is this database design sound and fully normalised?
@LeoKing - Not that interesting, it's been asked and answered many times. It's an imperfect rhyme, and considered inferior in English poetry, although it is acceptable in other poetry (Such as French). But in the basest sense, it is a rhyme.

comment What is a typical team size for a complex half million lines-of-code C# desktop application?
@PassionateEngineer - Asking for opinions will get it closed as "primarily opinion based".

comment Is it customary for software companies to forbid code authors from taking credit for their work? do code authors have a say?
Depends on your contract/hiring agreement. This goes way back, the original Adventure Atari cartridge had the first easter egg, the programmers name in a hidden location because they didn't credit either.

comment Code base migration - old versioning system to modern
The latter. Most of the libraries that I'm referencing are Clipper libraries. The library source is in VSS, and the available library is in a path directory so the compiler has it. If one dev changes the library, all devs need to update their copy. Worked ok with 2 devs, but now it will soon become unwieldy.

The existing build process is check out, change, compile. There are no interdependencies.

comment Communicate to a junior developer about bad style
I've seen this style in SQL coding, and it produces surprisingly readable queries. Maybe it's time to consider an addition to your style guide?

comment How to use my proprietary framework on a new job without making it open-source?
@recursive - Maybe, but it's still a very fine line to walk.
