comment What can a senior programmer do that a junior can't?
+1 I'm not far enough in my career to give a good answer. One aspect I think is the amount of ownership of a product or feature.. ability to choose technologies and start working without needing an overseer.

comment Tips for a novice PHP developer to drive down long-term maintenance costs
They're all awful, I went with ExpressionEngine :). I kid, of course. My clients were using EE for another site, so I stuck with that. +1 - but I'm still holding out for discussion of other aspects. Once I'm done I may write up my own answer.

comment How can I make tagging work for the concept of “all”?
That would require my code to process the abstract parent tags differently from normal tags. I need to think about this some more.

comment How can I make tagging work for the concept of “all”?
Unfortunately they'll still have to put tags in about other aspects of the info, so there would never be a completely untagged entry. It would have to be "untagged-with-relation-to-X" tag, pretty similar to an "all-X" with special properties...
