You could use MVC and build the front end with a responsive design so that it will look good on any size screen. This way you don't need different interfaces. You can just serve one page for all devices.

Your scenario does not make you site responsive. To be responsive, you have to account for all screen sizes, not devices. It is supposed to adapt to the screen size fluidly. In your scenario, your layout does not adapt to the screen size fluidly. Your scenario needs to send a request back to the server to create a new page.
