Dealing with “I-am-cool-and-you-are-dumb” manager +1 to gbjbaanb for creating a paper trail. Organizations with highly-managed processes use formal decision and analysis methods to help resolve conflicts. |

Dealing with “I-am-cool-and-you-are-dumb” manager I think that identifying the underlying problem and finding possible solutions to your situation would be suitable for either workplace.stackexchange.com or pm.stackexchange.com. I say that it may not be suitable here because, although you are a software developer, having a manager who is disrespectful and hypocritical is not specific to programmers. However, since the question has not migrated yet, I would say there is a good chance that my viewpoint is not shared by the moderators and your question may be considered fine here. |

Are UML class diagrams adequate to design javascript systems? @JimmyHoffa I agree to a considerable extent. Especially with modern IDE's, a programmer should easily be able to look at object-oriented source code and obtain the same information (and more) that is depicted in a class diagram. I can imagine class diagrams being more useful before modern IDE's with syntax highlighting and auto-generated outlines were available. Class diagrams may be suited for depicting object-oriented structures to people without programming experience or in a large project where there is not enough time for the developer to verbally explain the design to everyone. |
