No, not really. My error/information messages are stored localized in a database. The services are aware of the callers' language. So I didn't even further investigate the usage of enums instead of plain ids/messages. Having an enum which represents possible ErrorCodes would be cleaner than "magic numbers". I'm using constants. It's up to you which way you would like to go.

Yes, you're right. It is not really needed, but I do like to have things as "clear" as possible. If you have limited bandwith/resources it should be removed.
