comment Is Oberon really “a better Pascal”?
There's a possible spell error in "Overon For Pascal Developers" ;) (but it says it all -- that thing is over ..)

comment What are some things you have read that inspired and guided you as a programmer?
@Frank Shearar The guy just perefers simplicity to potential spaghetti I think. He also gave a lecture in Russian about a year ago; there he said that he prefers simple things like "for, if" and essentially sees nothing bad in writing Pascal in any language, if the code is effective and clear (as opposed to mistically duct-typed, as I get it).

comment How to test the tests?
@Carson63000 If it's a simple test testing something with a tested mock, the complexity is split and under control (, I think).

comment Is it a good idea to do TDD on low level components?
@TMN That was a reply to Note to self - think of a name. I.e. the emulators themselves are higher-level than anything else (in a sence), but as such and if tested they can be utilized to test the low level stuff.

Also, remember how Ward Cunningham unit-tested his java code for a TV-signal outputting controller (with no place for test code inside itself of course)?

So, vmware and alikes cannot be tested then?

And why not test the emulator then? ;)
