As you say, It depends on the IO wait. If IO wait is 23 hours, then parsing would take another hour so a single threaded execution will take 24 hours whereas multithreaded execution will take 23 hrs approx. But consider the case, underlying IO is SONAS. And I am using buffered reader, so in one IO cycle, I might read 64MB whole, and till I exhaust the 64MB, I will not perform another IO. Assume 1MB/s IO, can I achive performance throughput with multithreaded mode?
