I am a professional .NET developer specializing in web applications with a background in network and server administration. My goal on StackOverflow is to increase my knowledge base by researching users' questions and composing useful answers to them.
How would I implement a “self-destruct” feature into the free trial version of my software?
When you say "successful results", I believe you mean nobody has produced a trial version software which contains all the code for the full version that absolutely cannot be hacked to be used as a full version. What if success is defined as producing trial software that time-limits use of the software for 95% of its users (the ones that make litte or no effort to cheat) and results in a 5% purchase rate? Certainly that has been achieved before.
