comment How Do You Organize Your Methods in OO Progamming
@MichaelT Progr. by Intention is just one approach for grouping, this question is one level above that.

comment Request - Reply vs Publish-subscribe
@kincaid how does the publish service work? Does it publish the whole employee Data 1000-10000 times a day? That's by an update every ~10 sec. And System B makes a request ~every hour?

comment What should I look for in a school when trying to obtain a Software Engineering degree?
joelonsoftware.com/items/2007/12/03.html and joelonsoftware.com/articles/CollegeAdvice.html are two very nice articles on studying to become a software engineer by one of the guys that created Stackexchange. I think it highlights quite well what is important.

comment Clever way to license/obfuscate web applications until the client has paid for it
It's more worth to build trust with your client, than spending the effort to control him. If you can't trust your client, find another one.

comment What core skills does a new Computer Science Graduate need to be employable?
try being more specific than "programming" or "web design". Everything on this site is about programming. The OP specified quite well that he wants to know the core skills needed by a CS grad. When you try answering questions, read the other answers and make sure you are adding something that hasn't already been covered, but is still on topic with the original question.

comment Sort algorithms that work on large amount of data
Hi and welcome to programmers.SE - can you elaborate on your answer? The OP asked about sorting algorithms, but you answered with an implementation approach. Try explaining the algorithm behind temp-tables and how this can help solve the question at the top.

comment Is it allowed to make multiple instances of a singleton class?
Welcome to programmers.SE! I believe the OP had trouble understanding the concept of the singleton pattern, and not an issue with finding a way to create multiple instances. Try answering what the user specifically asked.

Then again - check out this Q&A: programmers.stackexchange.com/questions/1095/… , might be this answers your question.

comment Is it worthwhile to create a knowledge map for software?
First thing that comes to my mind is UML (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/…) - which is a standardized way of visualizing different aspects of software. Have you checked if UML can solve your needs?

comment Effective way to gain practical knowledge
Welcome to programmers.SE! Can you maybe point the OP to some of those "right places to go" - otherwise your answer is not of any more help than telling them to "google their problem".

comment Does software in a professional environment need to be licensed?
@James - because creating an explicit license is more work, and if work can be avoided... you know how this continues :) A license needs to be validated by the Legal dept - and before I get them involved I better have a good reason.

comment Do you think code is self documenting?
Thanks, honestly this emphasis of Why vs. How , just now, after 2 years of programming, taught me the purpose of Commenting code.

comment Conducting a requirements analysis interview
Thanks, perhaps a good point in separating problem identification and solution from the stakeholder point of view. I'll have to think about it.

comment Conducting a requirements analysis interview
I can agree that the question is about an expansive topic, but that's precisely the point. Requirements analysis is a key part of information-systems development, that is riddled with pot holes. I'm looking for help in articulating a question flow for an interview, that can help me direct the stakeholder I am interviewing towards a common solution, but also allows them to express individual thoughts and really dig into their personal requiremens.

Another useful term to google is "web page life cycle", but I couldn't find the simple explanation I would have liked to reference.
