comment What is the relevance of resumes in the age of GitHub, Stack Exchange, Coursera, Udacity, blogs, etc.?
As mentioned above, recruiters just match keywords and salary range - and in the US most recruiters are outsourced, so there will also be an HR person at the actual company, and they only care about those things also. You must jump through many hoops before you get to talk to anyone with a clue.

In 15+ years of programming, I've had to sort maybe 3 times.

comment Are there deprecated practices for multithread and multiprocessor programming that I should no longer use?
Not meaning to be rude, but you could have eliminated the first three paragraphs. They don't really bear on your question, and they over-reach on their conclusions and will just generate a lot of argument.

comment printf - source of bugs?
This question is pretty borderline. "What do you guys think" questions are often closed.

comment Why do developers need to keep up to date with technologies and methodologies?
This also points out that new technologies are often more layers on top of existing older technologies. What's your VM implemented in? C or C++.

comment Why do developers need to keep up to date with technologies and methodologies?
They often arise to meet needs in academia, but not in the real world. You gotta write your thesis about something.

comment What should I understand before I try to understand functional programming?
I like your sense of humor - but it does point out one thing: there's no real-world reason you are doing this :)
