Is rotating the lead developer a good or bad idea? I don't think you necessarily want to rotate EVERY dev into the team lead position, but I would expect a senior dev to be able to handle those responsibilities. Frankly, it's a thankless job, and it's more a case of sharing the burden and avoiding burning out one individual. I also think it'll help keep the advantages of your flat org team dynamic in tact to not have one dev as the permanent lead. |

I believe my solution is better than my boss's, so should I ignore him? Agree 100% with Stargazer712. Successful organizations are those in which the individual team members maximize their unique talents through team contribution. That begins by checking your ego at the door. I wouldn't want to work below you, above you, or next to you Mr. Murph, irrespective of your self-perceived uber skills. |

What happens if you're unable to solve a problem? As far as the second point - be careful about spending too much time on trial and error. Hacking has its place of course, but understanding the problem better is much more time efficient than lots of hacking. |

Why aren't there native Javascript interpreters for Windows/Mac/Linux? I've always hated The Definitive Guide. The organization just makes me nuts. |

Why aren't there native Javascript interpreters for Windows/Mac/Linux? Huh, yeah I only thought of node as for network apps as they are clear from their homepage on out that that's what it's for. |
