comment Shouldn't SVN warn me if I'm about to commit files which have newer versions in the repository?
Are you sure they didnt mess up at the merge stage?

comment Legitimate reasons for circular references in C++
@JanHudec I was going by this sentence "Were I to do this, Blocks would be informed of their parent Model's destruction so that they know if they are orphans.", perhaps I have misunderstood

comment How can I deal with a team member who dislikes making comments in code?
Is his code self documenting? how much commenting is required?

comment If I own an open source project why would I not host it on Github?
Also, unrelated but, #3 is automated in the patch system, even if it is rather clunkier.

Are you sure they offer ONLY zip downloads? It is not unheard of to offer version controlled code for developers and stable release zips for users to compile.

comment Library design: provide a common header file or multiple headers
Probably better suited for programmers SE. Anyway depends on how focused/diverse your functions are, I would say.

comment QR Codes as Booking Confirmations for Conference?
@Chud37 I had assumed its a scanner attached to a PC. With a smartphone, you could write a scanner app which also updates your DB, or have it on a private wifi network with one other PC and use the IP address of that PC

comment Using the STL to solve interview questions?
@MSalters I havent been on enough to judge, but a common recommendation for prospective google interviewees is to know how to implement a hashtable, with an array. Sorting also I am sure is common. I have seen several reverse string questions.

comment Using the STL to solve interview questions?
@johannes by trivial answer I meant questions that have you reinvent the wheel to test your concepts and understanding - implement linked lists, dynamic arrays, sort, etc
