What should I be focusing on when building a development PC? I know this question is now closed, but I urge you to consider not only the performance of the hardware you will use. A great keyboard and mouse will go a long, looong way in making your time as a developer more enjoyable and efficient. |

How to Subtly Tell a Professor About our Poor Programming Assignments? It's been some time, but I have to say that you are right. I shouldn't have been that arrogant to assume I know what correct OOP is. I've been working with this teacher in my Master's project and it's quite clear that his experience and knowledge in larger-scale applications dwarfs whatever I thought I knew. I apologize for my hubris and would like to say thanks Grandmaster, you were exactly right :) |

Productivity enhancing development strategies for small teams Not sure why this question has so many downvotes. My master's course has a weekly stand-up meeting where each group discusses current status and future plans. It's great because it gets different teams interacting with each other and an overview of the total progress made so far. Sounds like a very legitimate question. |

Interesting Topics in Comp. Sci. for New Students? While I agree that most people will not feel convinced through a discussion, that doesn't mean we shouldn't even try. I believe there are some students that are simply unsure of the possibilities or that don't know what to expect from such a course. I think it would be worth the effort if at least one person is convinced that Comp. Sci. is right for them. While I agree that the lecture is ad-hoc and that I didn't have a lot of time to prepare, I think it's a unique opportunity that I shouldn't say no to. Although yes, now that you mention it, it might be a little awkward :) |

Interesting Topics in Comp. Sci. for New Students? Are you sure? It is for an Intro to Programming course and I wish to elaborate on topics of Comp. Sci. and programming. How is this not programming related? |
