comment Where do service implementations fit into the Microsoft Application Architecture guidelines?
You can do much than only messages serializations like transformations (of values), validations (of messages values) and so on but yes, you can say that one of the main point of this layer is to put messages between your final consumers and your business to avoid exposing your business elements directly and let the service layer deal with the publics contracts (and "public serialization").

comment Making an internship most effective, useful and fun for both parties
I listed the requirements by priority, about the time, its the key as everyone can guess. A poorly planned internship is a bad internship for the interns and the company. About the "chopped" work case, I encountered it : bad work, bad feeling for my boss, the users, the intern and me. It requires more organization to achieve it and could be difficult in a case of an internship.

Yes in a way, the interns were followed by my boss regarding the administrative and management points. We were some engineers to mentor them on their work, depending the projects they were working on. Result: it costs time for engineers too.

comment What security is used by default in WSHttpBinding (service side) or the WCF Test client (client side)?
Dont know much about WS2007HttpBinding but your can find a description of supported protocols here : msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms730294.aspx. About the setup, you have to do some analysis to configure properly the services instance mode, and bindings message sizes and timeouts.

I like this point of view and I'll accept it for the philosophic part and the details even if its not so far from the realistic answer of AdityaGameProgrammer ;)

It's probably why most software engineering projects don't meet deadlines :) But that does not answer my question. Can you get into details on how this sort of project should be organized ?
