comment std::shared_ptr as a last resort?
@Pharap: This was so long ago that I don't remember exactly where he said it. But he is quite clearly of the opinion that in a good design you should have clear life-time semantics of objects, which std::shared_ptr (and non std::unique_ptr in general) violates.

comment Contract Based Programming vs Unit Test
So it's basically development time, maintainability, readability vs better code coverage?

comment Should Item Grouping/Filter be in the ViewModel or View layer?
Yes, however, what if I want a view for the same view model that does not involve grouping? In my specific case I use the same view model on both Android and Windows Phone, however, due to platform differences, one of them should not group items. Using the approach with converters I could use the same view model for both platforms. Not saying you are wrong, just arguing the other side.

comment Good Version Control Guidelines from a Development/Collaboration Perspective?
@Kilian Foth: The tasks are rather large (e.g. implement interface y for system x) and is up to them split it up into sub-tasks.

Or pass shared_ptr by lvalue or rvalue reference...

@NicolBolas: I listened to the advice and the argument but obviously I didn't feel I understood it well enough.

comment std::shared_ptr as a last resort?
I'm starting feel like I've gone into some sort of "trap" of using shared_ptr.

comment Why do languages such as C and C++ not have garbage collection, while Java does?
Why would it be terrible in a multithreaded environment? ConcRT seems to run fine...

comment Single statement if block - braces or no?
Although I can agree with the one-liner. Don't remember where I got this quote, but it illustrates my opinion: "If I don't put curly-braces around my if-statement consequent statement, another programmer will add a second statement assuming the braces are there but invisible, and bears will eat him."
