Programmer, Bass Player, Philosopher.

I love to program in Python and Prolog, to listen to the Pixies, Neil Young and QOTSA, and to read Ludwig Wittgenstein, Richard Rorty, Willard Quine, Donald Davidson and Nelson Goodman.

comment Can a common interface be defined for Cartesian and Polar coordinate data?
Hal Abelson of SICP fame uses exactly this example in his video lecture on Generic Operators. I suggest to everyone to watch this gem of CS education.

comment Questioning pythonic type checking

@JoshuaBelden: If you make that an answer (and probably elaborate a bit) I vote it up.

comment Find a “hole” in a list of numbers
@maple_shaft: No, I'm saying building a binary tree from random data and then traversing it left to right is equivalent to sorting and then traversing from small to big.

comment What is the benefit of multiple return values
@PaĆlo Ebermann: It's because the library (PIL) works that way. But you're correct. Would it be my own library, it'd probably have a Pixel class.
