comment How is C/C++ more difficult to decompile than C#?
@Carson63000 It's more or less already made in VB6, but I felt I should abandon VB6 because support for it is very lacking. Although it's not fully functional, it's perhaps halfway done. Most of the changes will be syntactic in nature, and after reading a 1,000-page book on C# and porting 4K lines of code over to C#, I think I should be good enough to continue adding functionality.

Do the classes and methods from the decompiled CIL retain their original names, or is that all obfuscated away?

Haha... it's not exactly AutoCAD... but perhaps similar in its demands on the system. :)

Not sure what you mean by "p/Invoke" =( Just now learning C#. Are they related to .dll's or something else entirely?

I'm looking to write a program similar to AutoCAD here, so I don't know that that would be feasible?

comment What is a “template” in Perl?
Ok, thanks. Now that I look at it further, the examples given in the link I provided are pretty straightforward. Initially, I googled it and all the sites that came up were awkward (like this: stackoverflow.com/questions/3790253/…).

template-toolkit.org/docs/tutorial/Web.html ; for example. Also, could it have something to do with regex?

@GregRos a state is a unique configuration of information in a program or machine en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_%28computer_science%29 ; for diagrams, see: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finite_state_machine, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_diagram (quote: For a real-world example [of state], consider a three-way light switch. An ordinary switch turns on a light when it's in the "up" position, but in a three-way switch the "up" position could be on or off, depending on the state or "configuration" of the other switch...)
