comment Did Your CS Program Prepare You Well?
@MAK - I would definitely like specific examples of schools that aimed to prepare their students for this kind of job. I really want to learn more about what classes and techniques they used. And if there any nearby, I'd want to recruit from them.

@Sedate - I agree that a university's first focus should be on education and trying to get your students to embrace new ideas. A 4 year school should not have career training as a major focus. That's why the suggestion I had was just a one semester class. Even if it was only offered once a week, I feel like that would be enough time to cover a lot of material. I think there can be a compromise.

+1 While I may disagree about some of your points regarding what your university should be doing, I think it's great that you found a program that prepared you well. Best of luck to you after you graduate.

That being said, we could start a whole new Q&A thread on what constitutes "reasonable expectations."

comment Bugs vs. Nonexistent Features
That makes sense. A missing feature can be considered a bug if the testers have a reasonable expectation that it should be in the software at that point.

comment UI Testing with Visual Studio 2010 Feature Pack 2
Thanks @Jim, I've been a fan of Telerik's Silverlight controls, but I hadn't looked at their testing products before. I wonder how it compares to the UI tests that Microsoft is providing.

comment What would you change about C# if you could?
I agree that internationalizing is best practice, but for cases like internal development apps, it would be more convenient if I had that ability.
