To do the Microsoft tests it was a case of attending a local test centre and completing the tests on a PC there.

comment Should I HTML encode all output from my API?
I was thinking this hence the question. The data that is formatted starts as Markdown so I will provide that via the API then it's up to the consuming app. Thanks

comment What ever happened to the Google AJAX Search API
Thanks for the background, well researched. It is a shame that the Custom Search API is not a direct replacement and will not return the results the same as a standard web search - google.com/support/forum/p/customsearch/…

Good point, I will update the question later. I guess to a point the comment is subjective over what is not appealing to read. Thanks

I believe most of the documentation I have read is written in a way not that is not appealing to read, and most of the books I have are generally programming related aimed at technical audience. Just see when anyone last read the Microsoft manual? Therefore I was looking for some inspirational examples.
