Why is Software Engineering not the typical major for future software developers? I'd also add that in a lot of universities in the US, the CS and Math departments used to share faculty. So a lot of professors have a math background and not a software engineering background. |

How do I tell my parents that landing a job is what actually counts? Another thing: if it's down between two candidates, all things being equal except grades, I'll hire the person with the better grades. Especially if it looks like they had to do a lot of writing for other subjects. If they write well, and quickly, they can help out with documenting things. |
