To be pedantic, you can run Scala, JRuby, and even Clojure on App Engine since it all the JVM under the hood. Now, whether or not it is easy to use these languages is another story...

@Jeff, I actually disagree. You shouldn't try to hide the fact you have a day job. In fact, conferences are an excellent opportunity for networking and/or engaging with customers. To not take advantage of that defeats the whole point of going to a conference.

comment KPI's for Programmers
Even good people need to know what is important though. For example, is keeping the site up 24/7 more important than new features? What about customer-support? There will always be more to do than your devs have time :)
