To answer the question about Go: Go keeps a list of goroutines to run for each thread (defaults to 1 thread, but you can ask for more). It can move excess goroutines to other threads when needed. Within each thread, it uses co-operative multitasking to switch between goroutines.

Actally, Go supports assembly just fine. golang.org/doc/asm The real answer is "What's the benefit for rewriting 15 million lines of Linux, and loosing contributions from thousands of developers all over the world?"

If you go JS/node, you should look at meteor.com, my favorite framework on top of node. It's a bit immature, but it's the future of web frameworks.
