@CodeWorks I was talking about simplicity to perform tasks. I'm not even asking for whether overall it's more simple to do things in Java or C#. I was asking if there is any task that is systematically simpler/cleaner to do in Java than C#

Why not? The purpose here is to just compare the programming languages, not to decide which one to use in a project.

@JoachimSauer You are right the question is strictly about the language (and strictly factual, not argumentative). I am trying to make that clear in the question, and you are very welcome to edit..

I am not looking for arguments about which platform is better, but more about examples of codes that is easier/shorter/less complex in Java as compared to C#

comment How to decide whether to implement an operation as Entity operation vs Service operation in Domain Driven Design?
I realize maybe it's hard to answer without any specific example, maybe you can propose some example, and I'll also think of some concrete situation to illustrate

Indeed I am asking about a generic rule of thumb. I know that there is no magical rule that works 100%, but I want to know how to "intuit" as easily as you apparently do and acquire that intuition, maybe there is a good rule of thumb? I am not making any concrete decision right now

maybe for a seasoned programmer, it's intuitive, but for me it's often not. For example, without a more specific rule I don't know which one is more natural: myData.Transform(); or myTransformer.Transform(data);
