comment Whether to put the business logic in Stored Procedure or Not?
I guess this rule makes sense when you have developers who can be trusted with important decisions :). If you don't have such developers, you have bigger problems!

comment Tips for working fast
This is not about typing everything that you think of - but when you conjure a piece of code that you want to put in (sort of start a mental dictation to yourself), there should be minimal lag, otherwise it breaks the flow. It's kinda like.. how you want the secretary to take notes as fast as you can dictate when you are preparing a speech.

comment Metric by which to hold developers accountable
Don't you wanna add within how much time? Generally quick turn-arounds have a significant business advantage, so much so that you can pay two-three times the money for the same functionality (if implemented quickly)

comment At what point during a project is it unreasonable to leave?
But to be fair - it works both ways. The employer is to give you 12 weeks notice period/compensation if they want to kick you out

I like the fact that you said 'situation' rather than 'job'.

comment Web Developer or Software Engineer?
@Tim Post - I don't really agree.. whereas exposure always helps, it is not necessary to be a good web developer. That's the whole point of having layers of abstraction to work on. After all, its better to know something in great detail than to know a lot superficially.

comment How do you cope with ugly code that you wrote?
Define ugliness.. because as far as i can tell, you can generally refactor old code to make things better. If you tell me that you realize that you should have used silverlight instead of asp.net and you get to know this after you developed 10 features, then i sympathize with you. Anything lesser than this, is practically everyday software engineering and we have to deal with it. Anyways I have given a more practical answer below.
