comment TRS-80 Color BASIC as an inspiration for a new programming language
Very curious how you came to know Color BASIC first. Many of us old timers got started with the Color Computer but I think it's been discontinued for longer than you've been alive. Interesting to see someone learning to use the CoCo that didn't grow up during the period it was somewhat common.

comment What does Google or Microsoft get by hosting JS files on their Content Delivery Networks (CDN)?
@Simon, I have absolutely no proof that any of my items are correct. I don't work for either company and haven't seen any public statements from either that would prove me correct. They're just guesses based on what makes sense to me.

comment Programming practice - Is there a site that has a daily “write a method to do X” type challange?
+1. Isn't this how PlentyOfFish got started? Now look at the poor sap... he has to keep up with running one of the busiest websites on the net. Nice problem to have and I bet he ended up learning more about ASP than he ever imagined.

comment Should I wait until Mango's release?
At TechEd this week, I noticed on one of the Microsoft employee's machine during a demonstration that the target in Visual Studio was labled "Windows Phone 7.1". Of course that doesn't mean marketing won't decide the version should be 7.5 but it does look like, at least internally, Microsoft is calling Mango Windows Phone 7.1.

comment Tricky logic puzzles - Are they really useful in assessing programming skills?
Heisenberg wouldn't approve. A person might be able to come up with a good solution to a problem but not be good at communicating the internal process they used. Asking them to do so not only tests their abilities under circumstance in which they will not typically work but also ends up being biased by their ability or inability to explain to another person how their thinking process works. They might not even be aware of how it works themself.
