What I am interested in is growing companies that have already experienced some initial success and are looking to scale up their products and services into larger markets.
The high degree of pivoting that start ups and other experimental, fail fast initiatives must do yield code that is all about reducing time to market and not much focus on scalability.
By instrumenting applications for tracking performance oriented metrics then refactoring or replacing server side and back-end processes using application stacks more optimised for projected growth and evaluating the subsequent metrics changes, you avoid that stall out effect that companies experience as they mature from an initial success model to a more sustainable one.
