comment How often should a manager meet with his subordinate who is a team leader?
No... where you got that? Technical meetings -> I go Political meetings -> he goes Technical-Political meetings -> we go together The point of the book is not being efficient anyway, it's about being effective. Actually I think that would be more efficient skip 90% of the meetings, but that would irritate other teams and managers and ultimately would cause our failure.

"But what will you do if you have to analyze the code to extract the relations?" -> if this is the case it means the project is neither tiny nor broken. Aka I'll start doing refactoring one piece at time. See also the Mikado method. danielbrolund.wordpress.com/2009/03/28/…

comment Best books on the theory and practice of software architecture?
I found that book very heavy to read and to understand. I suspect most of the people just pretend they read it and copy-paste the examples. So I won't suggest it as first book for a future architect. For sure it's important for a historical point of view of current sw architecture.

Obsolete book now. Most of the patterns of the Gang of Four are became so misused that are almost anti-patterns now. Like singleton and abstract factory.

it was a good book when published, but I think most of the patterns there are not used very much in the industry. Not a bad book but for sure not one of the top 5 in my opinion

It goes without saying... I consider TDD a requisite for any good code (aka the new one).
