I've seen this convention used heavily in .NET development as well. Perhaps because Microsoft's documentation and examples use it.

You asked about the initial implementation. Once you start implementing DomesticOrder, ForeignOrder, or whatever, they are named more thoughtfully and without regard to their position in the alphabet.

Agree with this and would like to add something we've learned: There is no benefit in using VSS that is not quickly offset by the larger benefit of not using VSS.

Inversion of Control usually refers to the "containers" while Dependency Injection refers to the actual pattern. But they go hand in hand. I would recommend reading Martin Fowler's article to get a handle on the topic.
