comment Do you perfect your code as you go or FINISH the product first, improve structure later
Sometimes it's not adding features, but how something done 3 week ago could have been done in a better way. In that case, should we go back and make the change and delay the rest or just leave it in its current state/mess. I find it hard to decide since the benefits cannot be measured immediately.

comment OOP private method parameters coding style
convenience is the whole point, during development stage. I know member variables can be accessed directly, otherwise I wouldn't have asked this question. Your comments hint that you wouldn't do this even out of convenience, so could you share why so? Thanks.

comment What's the difference between working at a software company and a company whose focus is in another field?
"They'll want it to work, and work now, and that'll be good enough" -- that is not true for me. The management thinks they know better when they are not and they have no clue about the complexity/approperiateness of the software features they demand (e.g. single-mighty-integrate-all-plus-CAD in C#). Being completely clueless about development methodologies, they sit around the meeting table imagining unrealistic deadlines. Definitely challenging =)

comment When and how a programmer should start own business?
i think the minimum viable income should also include the cost of running the venture.

wow... thanks everyone for the inputs (including all answerers and commenters). should've asked this question earlier. I haven't check what is ORM, and i can't understand all your tech-talk right now, so i think i will be learning a lot this weekend.
