comment Do technical interviews tend to be subjective?
You are right if the company is looking for a certain number of people. But most technical interviews that I have been are with companies that are always looking for programmers. And usually the interviewer always give me feedback a few days later about my code design. From there I conclude that eventhough my code runs perfectly, the interviewer has his own taste.

Thanks for this. I was too naive to think that no interviewers would fake ignorance.

I am talking about technical interviews, not just interviews. Technical interviews should be objective right? Because they want to see how you can solve the problem that is why they did a technical interview.

comment Which mobile development platform is easiest to develop?
Alexander, thank you very much for the detailed explanation. What kind of apps that need heavy logic on the phone side? [Example would be appreciated]. Wouldn't you want to process the logic on the server side instead?

Can you elaborate more why Windows Phone 7 is more suitable for heavy logic type apps? Shouldn't Objective-C and Java be capable for that as well? Also another category that you missed is game development. Which platform would be easier?

And why not Java?

comment Python : how can I impress people coming from Ruby/Java?
errr. Python's duck typing is not impressive for Ruby people. Neither does the for-each loops as Java and Ruby supports it. Ruby metaclass is more powerful IMHO.

comment Why was Scala not implemented with C or C++
I don't see why a garbage collector cannot be implemented with C or C++? I don't see that as a good reason. Python have done it. Ruby have done it. Heck even erlang have done it. Who knows that Scala might end up with a better garbage collector if it is written with C or C++?

@Chii, just admit it, Java is still slower than C.

That makes sense. But I guess if it is implemented in C you can tuned it much better.

comment Java or Python for internet application?
Thanks for the confirmation Mark. Looking how far behind Jython is to CPython what scares us off. We might take Jython into consideration. Is there any Python framework that you know that does not work with Jython?

Jython does not seems to be a serious project. How many sites use it in real life?

Thanks @btilly. Well explained. I've also heard that with Java you need large RAM preferably 1GB to start with. What do you say about that?

comment Why do business analysts and project managers get higher salaries than programmers?
A waitress also face the customers and get a lot of crap at their face, but it is the chef that get their hands dirty and make what the customer want who will get more at the end of the day.

Your whole answer is flawed. Programmers that are at the same age as BA and PM would still get less.

Great analogy. Thanks. Film Crew sounds like an Agile type company.
