I use coffeeScript only when I need to avoid javascript's OOP insanity. This is a nice solution that I might use when coding alone, it would be hard justifying to coworker that I'm passing an object instead of a boolean for the sake of readability!

After reading all the answers and looking at my code I'm coming to the conclusion that this is the right way of doing it. doSomethingUndoable() could capture the changes and then call doSomething()

I don't use an IDE, but even then I suppose the hint would require some sort of action (mouseover or moving to the line). I like to know what my code is doing just by looking at it.
