comment Does it make sense to develop open source python library for database inspection?
Could you elaborate on how command-line tool should work? Could you explain, why command-line tool would be better than access through browser? What I have in mind is that sometimes I need to change database, when I deploy new version of django app. Instead of using psql and 'ALTER|CREATE|..' to change the database, I would use web app to do that.

Just get hired in some crazy company, where you have a crunch every week and you'll have C++ coding under pressure any time you want :-)

comment How do you combat programming fatigue?
I have procrastinated whole day today instead of coding my open source project. Dammit.

Yeah, this is a pattern that every shitty programmer will bring up during the interview, because that's the only one he knows (but probably still doesn't understand).

comment What source code organization approach helps improve modularity and API/Implementation separation?
+1 for redundant .h files, that really irritate me and stating clearly that one class = one file provides no real value.

comment PyQt design issues
QAbstractItemModel was really annoying, when I was using PyQt. I tried to stick QTableWidget, QTreeWidget etc., rather than QTableView, QTreeView, etc. and be forced to create my own model (unless I could just use some built in, like QFileSystemModel).

comment how to evaluate own project
Actually, I have done that, though I didn't intend to :-P First, I have written some python tests for new features (some of them still fail) and then I started writing the actual code. I am familiar with TDD, but wasn't really conviced to do it. It just happened, that I had :-)

If you have any ideas how I might make the code better you can either write it here or maybe mail me on gruszczy@gmail.com
